HONG KONG!

We made it! Even with a tight connection in London and then a delay to leave Brussels...thanks to British Airways excellent organization we still made the connection in new Terminal 5 at London. And the bags made it too!

This is us being happy to be sitting on the 747 at Heathrow before we took off for the 11+hour tri to Hong Kong:

We are on the 15th floor of the Marriott - overlooking a small golf course which is between us and the airport.

We are watching Star Wars on a giant flat-screen - in English but it has Chinese subtitles going everywhere!

We walked over to the convention center across the street to hit an ATM for HongKong Dollars. Turns out Rod Stewart (he was big the 1980s) is in concert right now!

We hit a buffet of sort which had the best soup - you just pointed at the various items you wanted and the made a quick soup for you. Also had fresh pineapple that was amazing.

We meet up with the group in the morning and will all take the train (just over an hour trip) to Guangzhou on the Chinese Mainland.

It was tough for us to split up with the boys last night but fortunately they have Granda/Grandpa and had a silly movie (Madagascar) to take their mind off things. They seemed OK when we clled from here.

Thad kept asking - "you have my baby sister?". Not yet - but very close now!

take care,
us
