USA Visa!

Cue the Glen Campbell...And I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I am free...

Wow, we hit the US consulate today and after a quick oath (by mom and dad for her along with 33 other sets of parents!), Wei Wei received her immigrant visa.

So, in her Chinese Passport:

She now has the visa to get into the USA:

Actually, she not an American YET. We have to be processed at the immigration section of Washington Dulles airport after we land there sometime on Friday. After some paperwork, they will put a magic stamp on her visa which makes her a citizen.

And so it is ending...this is our last night in China and it feels weird. One family already headed out and so our group endured our first split. But, we've created and address listing and in about five years the "Sisters of Guangdong Province" will reunite over pizza somewhere in Chicago.

We head out early the morning to catch a train for Hong Kong. So we will try out WeiWei's new paperwork first thing as we clear Mainland China.

Then late tomorrow night we will fly out to London Heathrow and connect to a flight for Dulles.

I'll try to blog from HongKong tomorrow or perhaps Heathrow on the way to the USA!

getting closer,
us
